Terms and Conditions for online ordering

These Terms and Conditions apply to the purchase through an online ordering application for the dispensing of virtual or plastic International Student Identity Cards (ISIC), International Youth Travel Cards (IYTC) or International Teacher Identity Cards (ITIC), (hereinafter “Goods” or “Products”), operated by Student Discount Cards Ltd. Registered office: Priory House, 6 Wrights Lane, London, NW6 6TA , Company number 08873775 (hereinafter referred to as the “Seller”).

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. Your use of this Site constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, without your acceptance you will not be able to proceed with the ordering of Products. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions then you may not use this Site. All contractual relationships between the Seller and the customer (hereinafter “Card Applicant”) are made in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom .

I. Purchase Contract

The purchase contract, which is realized through the sale of goods, shall be confirmed by online orders and the dispensing of one or more of the products (ISIC/IYTC/ITIC). A confirmation is sent by electronic order form by sending a control email delivered to a specified email address.

Confirmation of the order granting permission to these business conditions gives the card applicant’s consent to their contents.

II. Conditions for issuing ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards

Eligibility:

Eligibility is defined by the international rules for supplying ISIC/IYTC/ITIC ID cards set by the ISIC Association. The Card Applicant hereby declares that he/she satisfies the Conditions for issuing cards ordered, as specified in these general Terms and Conditions:

In the case of an ISIC application:

Students engaged in primary-, secondary-, tertiary-, postgraduate-, continuing education or language studies that are enrolled in an institution which is duly accredited by the official governing body for education of the country in which it is located.

Qualifying student status is defined as being minimally 15 hours of study a week for at least 12 weeks per year.

The age limit shall be no less than 12 years for the ISIC card.

In the case of an IYTC application:

All youth and young adults up to and including 30 years of age, with the expiration of the card being prior to the holder’s 31st birthday.

In the case of an ITIC application:

All teaching staff at an institution engaged in primary-, secondary-, tertiary-, postgraduate-, continuing education or language studies which is duly accredited by the official governing body for education of the country in which it is located.

Validity:

The validity of all card types is 12 months from date of issuance of the card. Cards can be valid for an academic year if distributed through a 3rd Party (e.g. university or school).

III. Procedure for online ordering of Products

Ordering Procedure for the ISIC card:

  • The Card Applicant must fill in the institution in which they are currently a full time student.
  • The Card Applicant must fill in their full name, mailing address (if selecting plastic card option), date of birth and email address.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification document certifying the age of the Student – such as an ID card, Passport or Driver’s license.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a copy of their student card, a scanned letter from the educational institution or student ID card or an application form signed and stamped by the principal or registrar of the educational institution, to confirm that the Applicant is a full-time student.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification photo (max size 1000 KB).
  • To verify that the order has been completed the Card Applicant must agree to the Terms and Conditions and can be asked to respond to a few screening questions, which are used for internal research into the cards.

Ordering Procedure for the IYTC card:

  • The Card Applicant must fill in their full name, mailing address (if selecting plastic card option), date of birth and email address.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification document certifying the age of the Applicant – such as an ID card, Passport or Driver’s license.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification photo (max size 1000 KB).
  • To verify that the order has been completed the Card Applicant must agree to the Terms and Conditions and can be asked to respond to a few screening questions, which are used for internal research into the cards.

Ordering Procedure for the ITIC card:

  • The Card Applicant must fill in the institution in which they are currently a teacher.
  • The Card Applicant must fill in their full name, mailing address (if selecting plastic card option), date of birth and email address.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification document certifying the age of the Card Applicant – such as an ID card, Passport or Driver´s license.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned letter from the educational institution signed and stamped by the principal or registrar of the educational institution, to confirm that the Applicant is a Teacher or another document to clearly show teacher status at the named institution.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification photo (max size 1000 KB).
  • To verify that the order has been completed the Card Applicant must agree to the Terms and Conditions and can be asked to respond to a few screening questions, which are used for internal research into the cards.

IV. Order cancellation, withdrawal, refusal

Confirmed orders can be cancelled before dispatch by sending an e-mail addressed to help@isic.totum.com (for order cancellation, the Card Applicant must provide their full name, order number, date of birth).

If the Card Applicant leaves the process idle at any point before payment for more than 10 working days, the application will be considered as withdrawn.

Refunds will only be given if the card has not yet been printed, with an administration fee of £5 deducted. No refund is possible once the respective card is issued.

The Seller reserves the right to verify that the application details of the Card Applicant ordering the Product are in accordance with the respective card requirements. For this purpose the seller may contact the respective institution.

If on review of entitlement to any Product the Seller detects irregularities and / or inconsistencies between the order and documented evidence, inconsistencies with the Applicant’s status or in the event that the Card Applicant provides misleading, false or otherwise contradictory information that could lead to an unauthorized card, the Seller reserves the right to refuse the respective card application. Refunds will only be given with an administration fee of £5 deducted.

If the cardholder is not eligible for the card applied a full refund will be given.

V. Conditions of delivery

For plastic card orders

Card orders will automatically be issued as virtual cards but the applicant has the option to add a plastic card to their order for an additional fee plus postage. The additional fee and the postage will be shown during the order process.

Plastic cards are printed every Tuesday and Thursday morning and dispatched as per the order details, via United Kingdom Post. (this includes completed and approved orders received the prior Tuesday-Monday)

The Seller is responsible for the goods until the dispatch to the Card Applicant.

For all plastic card orders - Applicants will be asked to provide a United Kingdom postal address for delivery of your card.

For virtual card orders

Customers with correctly ordered virtual ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards will receive a confirmation email immediately with the order details. ISIC will generally process and approve the application within 48hrs (during business days), or contact the applicant via email if further information is required. Once the virtual card has been approved the customer will receive another email providing them with the card serial number. This number can then be used to access the virtual card via the ISIC App or the ISIC organization mobile website. It is the responsibility of the card applicant to download the app and sign up for an account or sign up for an account on the mobile website, through which they can access their virtual card.

VI. Payment Terms

Payment is due in full prior to dispatch.

Payment is by Paypal, credit card or debit card only and may be subject to a credit/debit card fee that depends on the respective card and will be advised at time of payment. Diners Club and American Express are not accepted.

Card Applicants must ensure they have correctly completed all the sections of the online application form as, in the case of an error being made refunds will only be given with an administration fee of £5 deducted. If a new card is required, it will need to be purchased again through the normal procedure.

VII. Warranty and Claims

You represent and warrant to us that you have completed all the information given to us during the registration process truthfully and accurately, that any supporting documentation you have supplied is accurate and that you will not permit any third party to use your ISIC/IYTC/ITIC to seek a discount or promotions offered by a Brand or for any other reason. Student Discount Cards Ltd reserves the right to cancel the card of any user where these warranties are not valid. Refunds for cancellations will not be supplied to those whose actions constitute a fraud.

The warranty begins on the day of receipt of the product by cardholder. The card is warranted for the duration of the expiry printed on the card. The Seller is responsible for all product defects, on receipt by the cardholder or that appear during the warranty period. Defects caused by rough handling or mechanical damage shall remain the responsibility of the cardholder. A complaint can be exercised only in writing by sending an email to the above-mentioned contact address of the Seller.

Claims, including defects, will generally be resolved without delay, within 14 calendar days from the date of claim, unless the Seller and the student agree otherwise.

The ISIC/IYTC/ITIC is designed to allow you to obtain access to discounts or promotions offered by brands from time to time. The virtual or plastic card is personal and is not transferable. You obtain a discount or promotion by verifying yourself with your ISIC serial number or by presenting the virtual or plastic card to a Brand, at the point in time of ordering the relevant goods or services from the Brand.

You can see a list of some of the discounts and promotions of brands at our website at any time https://isic.totum.com/discounts or in the ISIC app. While we use our reasonable efforts to keep that website up to date we do not guarantee to do so, since those discounts and promotions may be varied by Brands without notice at any time.

We endeavour to ensure that every Brand accepts the plastic or virtual ISIC/IYTC/ITIC but do not guarantee that this will always be the case. Where we know that a brand does not accept the virtual cards we will use reasonable endeavours to indicate that this is the case in the ISIC app.

Any discount or promotion offered by a Brand is not guaranteed and may be varied by a Brand without notice at any time.

We are not responsible for the provision of any goods, discount, benefit or other service by a Brand.

We are not a guarantor of nor are we responsible in any way for (i) the provision of any goods or services by a Brand or any other third party or (ii) anything arising out of the provision of those goods or services.

To the extent permitted by law, neither Student Discount Cards Ltd nor any of its related bodies corporate, directors, employees or agents accept any liability in contract or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third party providers over whom we have no direct control, force majeure or any other event which is beyond our control or which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part. Under circumstances where our liability cannot be excluded and where liability may be lawfully limited, such liability is limited to the remedies required of us under the applicable law. This liability clause is subject to your rights under the applicable law and nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit any rights you may have under the applicable law.

If a significant change is made for reasons beyond our control, then, to the fullest extent permitted by law but not otherwise, we are not liable to compensate you. These include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics, health risks, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type; closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, act of government or public authorities or other circumstances amounting to force majeure and/or Acts of God.

We do not accept, to the fullest extent permitted by law but not otherwise, liability or responsibility for any supplier bankruptcy or insolvency and the failure to provide any services which may follow.

VIII. Consent to the processing of personal data and sending commercial communications by e-mail:

The Applicant hereby gives consent, to the processing of my personal data to the extent specified in the order form and in a scanned copy of the request for a card, including photographs and copies of ID card or other identification card, for verification purposes (i.e. age verification on the Applicant’s age to 30 years of age or full-time status of both a student or a teacher in any case, which is a prerequisite for drawing discounts and benefits), for the purpose of carrying out orders and delivery of cards ordered, orders for archival purposes, and for accounting, audit, business and marketing purposes within the business and also for providing such personal data to third parties cooperating in providing discounts or benefits to holders of ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards, or otherwise cooperating with the authorities to provide such discounts or benefits, for verification, registration, inspection, sales and marketing purposes associated with the provision of discounts and benefits to holders of ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards, or for the purpose of monitoring compliance with Conditions of cooperation between administrations and third parties in connection with the provision of discounts and benefits to holders of ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards, all for the duration of the purpose of processing personal data , i.e. for an indefinite period, including the period after the expiry of the ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards. This consent can be withdrawn at any time by written notification to the Seller.

If the Applicant consents at time of application, further to impart consent to certain Information Society Services, as amended, administrators are allowed to the use the Applicant’s e-mail address for sending commercial communications relating to the benefits and services granted by the cards, and especially business communications relating to benefits and discounts for ISIC/IYTC/ITIC card holders, for cultural and promotional events organized to promote the use of these cards, offers from organizations cooperating with the authorities designated for holders of these cards (mobile operators, banks, discounts and benefits, etc.) . Permission to send commercial messages may be withdrawn at any time by written notification to the Seller.

The Applicant hereby understands and agrees that his/her personal data in the above-mentioned range, for the purpose above and beyond the above mentioned period can be processed by an authorized staff manager, possibly through cooperating third parties or external contractors processors and that his/her personal data will be centrally processed for the above verification purposes ISIC Service Office, Starine Novaka 1, 11000 Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, which is a service company of the Danish NGO ISIC Association.

IX. Final Provisions

The Card Applicant’s order after its confirmation performs the function of the purchase agreement entered into between the Card Applicant and the Seller and is filed for purposes of compliance and other records. The online order information and the terms & conditions can be made available to the Card Applicant upon request. Different technical steps to conclude the online order are completed in the order process by the Card Applicant. The Card Applicant has the opportunity to detect and correct errors in data entry before submitting the order.

These business Conditions are valid from May 1st, 2020.

Third Party Intellectual Property Policy

Individuals who believe that their intellectual property rights have been infringed either on the Internet or through online services provided by the Seller may contact the Seller, directly and request that the infringing material be removed or access to it blocked. The Seller will investigate those complaints. Where the Seller is satisfied that the infringement is taking place, it will take appropriate action.

Any person is hereby authorized to view the information located at www.isic.totum.com for informational purposes only. No part of the information located at www.isic.totum.com can be redistributed, copied, or reproduced without prior written consent of the Seller.
